He is a 65 year old Afghan inventor. With inadequate education but a knack for electronics he has spent his entire life building gadgets out of nothing. Even with emerging technologies such as wirless networks and cell phones in Afghanistan, he has enabled himself to take them apart and learn how they are built. And once he is done educating himself … he would use them to come up with a new tool. This time, he has invented Afghanistan’s super Burglar repeller.
Hanif Molavizadeh is an old man but his work is admired by the people who know him. He lives in a small room and his workshop also resides within there.

In the above photo he shows his latest invention to Soraya Sarhadi - a NPR journalist. His invention works like this
if somone moves outside his window, the simple motion, gets detected by a computer chip. The detection triggers an array of electronic cascades which turns on the light, fires kalashinkov, and calls his cell phone. If he is not in town, he will shout in his cell phone “Keey ast” .. and the sound gets amplified within his room and that would make the burglers think that perhaps someone is inside.
How exactly he was able to come up with a motion detection system, or the ability to get a call on his cell phone if someone wanders in his garden, is a little bit of technological leap for an Afghan man who has left everyone surprised and bewildered.

Following is a picture of his home made alarm system:
Among the many other inventions, he has also invented a Car alarm system. When a intruder tries to break into his car, he gets a cell phone. By dialing a bunch of numbers, he can tell the system how much of an electric shock he wishes to deliver to the intruder.
He forwarded his invention to Afghan authorities for mass production but so far no government organization has show any interest or willingness to support this 65 year old - self taught inventor.
But thanks to his neighbours, they amass $250/month to help support Mr. Molavizadeh.
